“Morning is when the wick is lit. A flame ignited, the day delighted with heat and light, we start the fight for something more than before.”
– Jeb Dickerson
As Citlalli and I get ready to head off on the Rickshaw Run one week from tomorrow–yikes!–I’ve also been busy putting together another new project:
My Morning: How the World Starts their Day
The idea for My Morning is a result of several conversations, all of which I share about in the blog’s first post, and which led me to decide this: to begin interviewing people I meet in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and beyond, about the first hour of their day.
I’ve been wanting to to write about development issues for a while, but the fact is, I don’t know a lot. I don’t know enough. I’m not an expert in any field, really. What I do know is this: I love to tell stories, both through words and pictures. So I hope this new project will be a way for me to explore development issues and learn more about the world–all through the stories of individuals I meet on the road.
I hope you’ll join me over the next couple of months–not only as Citlalli and I careen through India on a rickshaw, but afterwards as well when I’ll have the chance to slow down, take a look around, and get to know India in a slightly less hectic manner…
Yes!I’m in:)
Thanks, Grace! Will be great to have you along the journey 🙂
You got it right – two ‘h’s’ in hitchhike 😉 Thanks for the awesome mention!
Haha phew, I was a bit worried on that spelling… 🙂 And you’re welcome! Are you still thinking about doing a longer writing project on the GCH? x
